4-channel asynchronous STIMULATOR

emka TECHNOLOGIES’ 4-channel asynchronous STIMULATOR is designed for experiments on isolated organs, tissues or microvessels

The asynchronous stimulator generates a constant current or a constant voltage on each of up to 4 channels independently:

  • in constant voltage mode, the stimulator automatically reacts to impedance fluctuation between the stimulation electrodes, by adapting current so as to maintain voltage at the required value. 
    The maximum current that can be delivered is limited at 800 mA
     
  • in constant current mode, the stimulator automatically reacts to impedance fluctuation between the stimulation electrodes, by adapting voltage in order to maintain current at the required value. 
    The maximum voltage that can be delivered is limited at 150 V.

The stimulator can be operated manually or from iox2 acquisition software. In the latter case, all settings can be made and saved in iox2 configuration files. A wide range of stimulation protocols can be created and automatically executed.


Settings:

All stimulation parameters are adjustable: 

  • main frequency
  • stimulation in current or voltage
  • pulse amplitude
  • pulse width
  • pulse polarity (positive, negative, biphasic or alternative)
  • type of stimulation (continuous, by train, manually)
  • duration of the train or pulse number in the train (if train mode is used)

emka TECHNOLOGIES has designed a wide range of stimulation electrodes for different applications, including:

Platinum electrodes for field stimulation:

  • built with two 15 mm x 7 mm platinum plates. 
  • only for use with emka TECHNOLOGIES' tissue bath setup.
  • vertical length: adjustable
  • distance between plates: 8 mm
  • minimum bath internal diameter required: 18 mm

Platinum ring stimulation electrodes and holder for in vitro stimulation:

  • the tissue is placed vertically through the upper and lower stimulation rings
  • the inter-ring distance is adjustable to accomodate different tissue lengths
