An extensive range of transducers is available for measuring isometric contractions (contraction of tissue without change in length) on isolated tissues, such as aorta, trachea and papillary muscles during drug exposure or electrical stimulation.

it1 is an isometric transducer for measuring tensions in the range 0 g to 25 g (0 to 0.25 N).
This high-sensitivity, high-precision transducer is built with 4 solid-state gauges wired as a Wheatstone bridge. 

It is designed for use with our tissue bath systems:

  • emkaBATH4 all-in-one mainframe
  • low cost SET4-bath setup connected to emka analog or USB amplifier (usbAMP) or any other model 


Technical data:

  • Stainless steel body
  • 0 to 25 g (0 to 0.25 N) measuring range.
  • Displacement: 0.2 µm/g (2 x 10-5 m/N).
  • Sensitivity: 2.86 mV/g 
  • Combined error (linearity, hysteresis, repeatibility, temperature) less than 0.2 % of measuring range.
  • Temperature drift: + 0.05 %/°C. Temperature-compensated range: 20 to 40°C.
  • Maximum accepted overload: 50 g (0.5 N).
  • Excitation voltage: 10 V DC.  
  • Natural frequency response: 700 Hz.

it50 is an isometric transducer measuring forces in the range 0 - 50 g (0 - 0.5 N).

It is designed for use with our myograph.
