Effects of Vitamin K-1 and Menaquinone-7 on Vascular Function and Blood Pressure in Warfarin-Induced Calcification-Model in Rats

The aim of the present study was to investigate effects of vitamin K-1 and menaquinone-7  treatments on blood pressure and vascular function in warfarininduced vascular calcification model in normotensive Wistar-Kyoto rats. In vitro vascular reactivity measurements were done using emka TECHNOLOGIES organ bath chambers and acquisition software.

Coronary arteries' rings were suspended in isolated organ 
chambers for isometric tension recording.

The dual endothelin receptor antagonist, bosentan, and the phosphodiesterase inhibitor, sildenafil, are efficacious in experimental and clinical pulmonary hypertension (PHT). The effects of bosentan, sildenafil, and their combination were evaluated in rats with monocrotaline (MCT)-induced PHT. 

Data were acquired and analyzed using iox and datanalyst software. 
During the study, ring  segments of aorta  were mounted in a 10 ml organ bath.

Inhaled but not intravenous milrinone prevents pulmonary endothelial dysfunction after cardiopulmonary bypass.
The objective of this study was to compare the effects of inhaled and intravenous milrinone on the pulmonary endothelium-dependent relaxations and hemodynamic and oxygenation parameters after cardiopulmonary bypass in a porcine model.

During this study, pulmonary arterial endothelium were placed in organ chambers (Emka Technologies) filled with 20 mL of modified Krebs-bicarbonate solution continuously heated at 37°C and oxygenated with a carbogen mixture (95% O2 and 5% CO2).

Data were collected IOX data acquisition software.
